Tiger Woods, the most iconic golfer of the modern era, is back in the spotlight. Every swing, every decision, and every tournament he enters is closely watched by the global golfing fraternity, and his return is no exception.

Woods announced he will suit up for Match 2 of the Top Golf League (TGL) Final on March 24, representing his Jupiter Links team against the Los Angeles Golf Club. This marks his first competitive appearance since undergoing disc-replacement surgery last October, signalling the start of his road back to top-level golf and possibly the 2026 Masters at Augusta.

The 50-year-old legend has been serving as team captain and mentor, guiding stars like Tom Kim, Kevin Kisner, and Max Homa while recovering. Jupiter Links narrowly lost Match 1, 6-5, without Woods on the course, leaving the team trailing 1-0 in the best-of-three series. Woods’ presence on the tee could be decisive as his team aims to force a third, deciding match against the formidable trio of Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, and Sahith Theegala.

“I’ve been working on it,” Woods told ESPN about his comeback. “Sometimes I have good days. Sometimes I have bad days.” Despite a series of injuries in recent years, Woods remains determined to extend his storied career.

While the immediate focus is the TGL championship, Woods has made no secret that he is eyeing one more Masters appearance. The last time he competed at Augusta was 2023, when plantar fasciitis forced him to withdraw. Across his career, Woods has won five Masters titles, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, and most recently 2019 , cementing his legacy as one of golf’s all-time greats.

This return to competitive play is more than a single match; it’s Tiger’s first step back into the arena, reminding fans worldwide that even after setbacks, the legend is very much on the prowl.
